Great Start to the Season

Greetings!

What a remarkable first week it was!  So great to see a lot of familiar faces stop by for a look around and try to soothe some of that gardening itch that set in over the winter.  The weather has been exceptionally warm.  Let's hope it continues so we can keep this Spring excitement going!

Early Hardy Vegetable Packs
Early Hardy Vegetable Packs
Jumbo 6 Pack Assorted Broccoli
& Lettuce

And of course we have a good selection of hardy vegetable transplants including bunches of Walla Walla and Kelsae Onions which could all be planted now. New this March, for all you veggie enthusiasts, we have some Jumbo 6 packs of six different varieties of Broccoli or Lettuce, great for a little family taste test.

Happy gardening!
The Greenery Family
Dahlia, Gladiola Bulbs, and Gourmet Seed Potatoes

Yes! They are available again with over 50 varieties of Dinnerplate, Decorative, Cactus flowering, and Fringed Dahlia bulbs.  It is impossible to not have one of these beauties catch your eye!

Check out the new Dinnerplate varieties of AC Dark Horse, Cambridge, Mingus Randy, Manhattan Island, Myrtle's Folly and other new types like Painted Madame, Blackberry Ripple, and Marble Ball.

In the way of Gladiolus, we have some very unique varieties like Laguna, Clemence, Belinda, and Halloween.
Assorted Dahlia Tubers
Becoming more popular every year are the Gourmet Seed Potatoessold in small packages for those avid home gardeners. Some notable varieties are Banana (our family favourite), French Fingerling, Sieglinde, Russian Blue, and Nicola. Nicola has a very low Glycemic number, which is ideal for people concerned about having high blood sugar levels after eating potatoes.

Stock Up on Geranium Stock Pots

Back again are the beautiful 14" Zonal, Martha Washington, and scented Geranium stock pots.

These have been flying out the door already so if you have the ability to look after one of these during the early season, don't miss out. Despite having over 80 different varieties, many of them are already gone!

The Martha Washington and scented Geranium stock pots are placed just through the centre curtain along the main walkway. Please ask us for them since this area is not fully open yet.
Large Tomato Plants & Bare Root Strawberries

2 Gallon Cherry Tomato
2 Gallon Cherry Tomato
For those people with heated greenhouses or sunrooms, we have a beautiful selection of quality tomato plants in 5.5" square pots up to 2 gallon pots.

These have been grown under cool white flourescent lights all winter so they have a great compact habit, giving you way more production on a shorter plant. Many have been pollinated already meaning a very early start to the harvest. Keep in mind plant numbers are limited but plant quality is phenomenal, so don't miss out.

Due to such early demand we will also have strawberries available in bulk, in bunches of six for $2.49. Seascape, Albion, Eversweet, and Tri Star will be available until our regular Jumbo 6 packs root in.

Start Up Your Succulent Collection!

If you haven't made it in to browse through the unreal succulent collection, don't miss out!  Some varieties are not easily propagated, so numbers are limited.

If you're looking for some rare varieties of echeveria to collect, keep these in mind since they are usually sold out by May:

  • Black Knight
  • Agavoides
  • Ciliata
  • Mexican Giant
  • Electric Glow
  • Mexican Snowball
  • Ramilette
  • Red Frills
  • Icicle

We still have a great selection of large succulent bowls and smaller succulent hanging baskets, as well as the perennial Sempervivum (Hens and Chicks) 14" moss baskets. These look amazing and are so easy to care for as they need very little water and are hardy enough to stay out all winter.
