Description:

The Iresines are colorful foliage plants. Iresine has remarkable wine red leaves and stems. Iresines are sun-lowers - if inside, keep away from a south-facing window because the colours tend to fade and growth becomes lank and straggly. Cut out growing tips occasionally to provide bushiness. Iresines grow to about 2 ft high. 

They like average warmth in summer and a minimum of 13C in winter, so bring 'em inside in when the nights turn cool.  Iresines prefer a brightly lit spot, but keep well away from direct sunlight.
