Hope for the Nations - Food for Thought

The Greenery has partnered with Hope for the Nations - Food for Thought to support local children in need of food security.
We will be selling birdhouses and butterflies created by UBC Students and painted by children within School District No. 23.

The Central Okanagan has over 5900 children in need of food security.  Hunger doesn’t take the weekend off, and the Starfish Backpack Program ensures students do not have to go through their weekends with empty stomachs. Where there’s poverty there’s hunger.  Malnourished kids’ brains struggle to perform basic memorization if they are not nourished. Vulnerable students can take food home in a backpack with easy-to-follow recipe cards.

Come out and show local kids you care by purchasing a one-of-a-kind birdhouse, that will brighten your summer!
