Mixed Hanging Baskets Are Finally Here!
Hi there,
Our mixed hanging baskets for sun and shade locations will be available on Friday, May 1st, priced at $32.99 each, the same as last year.

This season we planted more of these popular baskets and hope to have them available throughout the next few weeks. For the first 3 days these baskets will be displayed on tables in selling section A. The mixed sun baskets on tables A1 north and A1 south, and the mixed shade baskets on table A4 north.

Unique Vines & Tropical Plants
The trend of growing unique plants in containers continues to grow, which is why we are pleased to have a complete set up (on table A10 North) of specialty tropical plants and vines available for this weekend.

The most popular of these are Mandevilla vines, where we have the Sun Parasol series. This series is a completely new collection of Mandevilla hybrids including the first genuine crimson that stays true to colour.
They are known for ease of growing, continuous blooms, and disease resistance. |
For a second season, we have good numbers of Bougainvillea plants available, in 3.5" and 4.5" square pots. Not only do we carry the deep purple trailing variety, but also a new more compact, bush type series. This Vara series blooms early and heavy, and would be ideal for smaller planters, rather than hanging baskets.
You may also want to check out the Purple Iochroma which offers clusters of deep purple tubular flowers and dark velvety green leaves, and will grow to a substantial bush by the end of the season. It blooms all summer and is greet for attracting hummingbirds.

As for our annual vines, which are much more cold tolerant, we have 9 varieties of Thunbergias--from white to rusty red. We also added one new variety of Passion Vine to our existing varieties. Other vines of note are Cathedral Bells, President Tyler Morning Glory, and Rhodochiton (or Purple Bells), a new and improved variety.
You will also find Datura in 3 colours and Brugmansia in 2 colours on the A10 table. |

Water Plants
Our first shipment of water plants will be arriving this Saturday, including Water Hyacinth, Water Lettuce and Red Root floaters.
Nearby you'll find a selection of Iris, Variegated Cattail, Water Baby's Breath, Marsh Fern, and Arrowhead, as well as a selection of Hardy Water Lilies in various colours. Located at B-20.
We also have Water plant soil and different sizes of net pots available. |
Two Gallon, Hanging Basket, & Collector Tomatoes
Our assortment of large two gallon tomatoes are now available. Choose from 40 different varieties--some beefsteak, some cherry and even some collector types!

The hanging baskets of 'Red Robin', 'Topsy Tom', and 'Tumbler' Tomatoes are also available on the beam at table A14 and A15 north.
For anyone still looking for that perfect or unique tomato to grow this season, we have begun to restock the Collector, Heirloom, and Basket varieties of tomatoes, all of which you will find down the aisle by A17 north. |

Longer Hours & Extra Parking

With the weather improving and more people thinking about gardening, we would like to remind you that we are open until 7pm on Thursdays and Fridays for the month of May.
We will also open the side gate on Longhill Rd, just around the corner from our main entrance, where you can angle park alongside our fence and walk into our regular parking lot.
Please remember when parking outside of our lot along Rifle Road to not encroach on the bicycle path. Last season some people were ticketed. |
