Hi there,

Even though we were greeted with a little snowfall on the first day of Spring, it hasn't slowed us down from setting up! The outside retail area is now covered and you can browse without worry of rain, snow, hail, or whatever else Mother Nature sends our way.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!
The Greenery Family

Plants for the Early Cool Days

Don't worry about the snow and frost, the cool crop plantings of Pansies, Primulas, Ranunculus, English Daisies, Forget Me Nots, and Wallflowers can withstand temperatures to -5C or so. Our potted bulbs: Daffodils, Tulips, and the incredibly fragrant Hyacinth can as well!

Many perennials are showing good new growth and could be planted anytime. There are also tables and tables full of Spring colour in selling section "D" and "E".

This year, to help make it easier for you to decide on your favourite pansy varieties, we have show plants hanging above the selections.

Cool Wave and Other Trailing Pansies

Be sure to check out the selection of Trailing Pansies, including the Cool Wave Series, the most vigorous and prostrate of any spreading pansy, they make unique baskets, premium mixed combos and great groundcovers. They are the earliest to bloom in the Spring, and the blooms hold up well in rain and weather better than the large flowered types.

In all the different series we have "Frost"- white flowers which develop light blue "frost" from the edge as they mature, "Violet Wing", "Yellow", "Purple", "Gold", "White"- which can show a little blush colouring, as well as "Marina"- a light blue with a face, "Purple & White", and "Lemon Purple Wing". They are available individually in 3.5" pots and in 2 different styles of pansy hanging baskets on tables D14 and D15.

A full selection of early seed geraniums is now available, as well as the first planting of Wave Petunias for those people who need to get an early start on their wire frame baskets, or other containers.

We will also be setting up the first batch of 4 pack tomato plants for Saturday morning. This is a selection of some of the more popular varieties of cherry, beefsteak, cooking, and paste tomatoes and they can be found on table B9.
Cactus , Agave, and Aloe

For all you succulent collectors, we have some great cactus, agave, and ornamental aloe that have arrived in perfect condition, ready for a bright location in the house. You may also find a good selection of the traditional medicinal aloe in 4" pots which always tend to sell out early!

Beautiful Early Flowering Perennials

If you love early colour in the perennial garden, then have a look at our great selection of Brunnera, Dicentra, Pulsatilla, and Pulmonaria. These are all extremely fool proof types of perennials, very hardy and some of the earliest to bloom in the landscape. Mostly these flourish in a shaded location with the exception of Pulsatilla, commonly known as Pasque Flower, which does wonderful in a rock garden setting.

Our favourite is the Pulmonaria or Lungwort, which comes up very early with the flower stalks first, ranging in colour from blue, pink, purple, red or white, and later following with a flush of beautiful silver and green splotched or dotted foliage, which is actually evergreen in milder areas. This season we have grown 6 incredible varieties, including "Dark Vader", "High Contrast", "Moonshine", "Raspberry Splash", "Silver Bouquet", and "Trevi Fountain".
