Hello Happy Gardeners,

We are excited to see so many in our community planning their ornamental and vegatable gardens.  There are still plenty of annuals, perennials and vegetable plants available.

The trials of both the Trailing Petunia and Calibrachoa hanging baskets that we grew this season have been evaluated and will be available for purchase on Friday morning!  There is also still a nice selection of 16" and 12" mixed baskets available- come in and get one before they are gone!

See you soon!

Happy Gardening!

Please note: All Blooming Hall of Fame contest prizes need to be collected before we close for the 2026 season.

What are our Trial Baskets?

Now that we have had the time to evaluate all the varieties of our Trailing Petunia Hanging Baskets and the Calibrachoa Hanging Baskets that we grew this season, we will be releasing one of each that we held back. When we have each variety hanging together in the outdoors, we look for bloom power and colour consistency to avoid growing the varieties that have blooms that fade. We are also looking for consistent growth patterns to create our mixes for the following season.

There are 2 of each of our mixes from the season that we hold back to see how they perform, so we can make changes as needed.  With the mixes, we look for compatible growth habits and complementary or contrasting colour grouping depending on the mix. We also look at the dates that each of these baskets sells out when determining our production for the next season. These Hanging Baskets will be available on Friday morning.

It's a Double Bingo Week again! This week's Bingo words are Broccoli and Portulaca.

Broccoli is the classic healthy green veggie, a cool-season favourite that's as good in the garden as it is on the plate. Packed with nutrients and easy to grow, it's a reliable pick for spring and fall planting. Find it on table D19.

Portulaca is a sun-loving, drought-tolerant bloomer that thrives where other plants wilt. Its bright, jewel-toned flowers open with the sun and make it a perfect choice for hot spots, rock gardens, and containers. Find it on table A12 South.
